Recall 24V087000 · manufacturer campaign N242430730
Seat Belts › Rear/other — Chevrolet · reported 8 Feb 2024 · 338 vehicles potentially affected
What's wrong
General Motors (GM) is recalling certain 2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV vehicles. An incorrect seat belt bezel on the second-row center seat belt may damage or tear the seat belt in the event of a crash.
The risk
A torn or damaged seat belt may not properly restrain an occupant in a crash, increasing the risk of injury.
The fix
Do not allow passengers to sit in the second-row center seat until remedied. Dealers will replace the second-row center seat belt bezel, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed March 13, 2024. Owners may contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020. GM's number for this recall is N242430730.
Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.
Vehicles covered by this recall
Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.
Is this car's recall fixed?
Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
