Service Brakes, Air — Autocar · reported 29 Feb 2024 · 586 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

Autocar, LLC (Autocar) is recalling certain 2020-2024 DC (Legend) vehicles. A software error may cause the low air pressure warning to not function properly. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 121, "Air Brake Systems."

The risk

A low air pressure warning that does not function properly can result in driving without functioning brakes, increasing the risk of a crash.

The fix

Dealers will update the low air pressure warning software, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 26, 2024. Owners may contact Autocar customer service at 1-888-218-3611. Autocar's number for this recall is DC-2401.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.nhtsa.gov.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
