Recall 24V167000 · manufacturer campaign SC0460
Parking Brake › Indicator Light — Mack · reported 1 Mar 2024 · 117 vehicles potentially affected
What's wrong
Mack Trucks, Inc. (Mack) is recalling certain 2024 MD6 and MD7 vehicles. The park brake light may indicate the incorrect brake status due to an incorrect park brake pressure switch.
The risk
The park brake light may indicate that the park brake is applied when it is not, possibly resulting in a vehicle roll away and increasing the risk of a crash.
The fix
Dealers will inspect and replace the brake pressure switch as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed March 11, 2024. Owners may contact Mack customer service at 1-800-866-1177. Mack's number for this recall is SC0460.
Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.nhtsa.gov.
Vehicles covered by this recall
Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.
Is this car's recall fixed?
Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
