What's wrong

Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC (MBUSA) is recalling certain 2022-2023 AMG G 63 and 2023 G 550 vehicles. The air-conditioning system may not have been filled with the correct refrigerant.

The risk

In the event of a crash, the incorrect refrigerant may leak and increase the risk of a fire.

The fix

Dealers will replace the air-conditioning refrigerant, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 12, 2024. Owners may contact MBUSA customer service at 1-800-367-6372. MBUSA's number for this recall is 2024030016.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.nhtsa.gov.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
