Recall 24V333000 · manufacturer campaign SC0463

Equipment › Other › Labels — Mack · reported 14 May 2024 · 26 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

Mack Trucks, Inc. (Mack) is recalling certain 2024-2025 MD and Terrapro vehicles. The Gross Axle Weight Rating (GAWR) listed on the vehicle certification label is incorrect, which can allow the vehicle to be overloaded. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of 49 CFR Part 567, "Certification."

The risk

An overloaded vehicle can increase the risk of a crash.

The fix

Dealers will remove and replace the label, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed May 28, 2024. Owners may contact Mack customer service at 1-800-866-1177. Mack's number for this recall is SC0463.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.nhtsa.gov.

Vehicles covered by this recall

Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
