Recall 24V346000 · manufacturer campaign 41B
Air Bags › Frontal — Jeep · reported 16 May 2024 · 7 vehicles potentially affected
What's wrong
Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicles. The front bumper may be missing energy absorbing foam, which can cause the front air bags not to deploy as intended. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 208, "Occupant Crash Protection."
The risk
Front air bags that do not deploy as intended can increase the risk of injury in a crash.
The fix
Dealers will inspect the vehicles and install the foam as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed May 30, 2024. Owners may contact FCA US, LLC customer service at 1-800-853-1403. FCA US, LLC's number for this recall is 41B.
Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.nhtsa.gov.
Vehicles covered by this recall
Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.
Is this car's recall fixed?
Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
