Recall 24V390000
Fuel System, Diesel › Delivery › Hoses, Lines/piping, And Fittings — Gillig · reported 3 Jun 2024 · 54 vehicles potentially affected
What's wrong
Gillig, LLC (Gillig) is recalling certain 2023 Low Floor buses equipped with Cummins L9 diesel engines with part number D563027BX03. Insufficient crimping may allow the remote fuel filter hoses to disconnect and leak, decreasing fuel supply to the engine.
The risk
A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source increases the risk of a fire. Additionally, a lack of fuel can cause an engine stall, increasing the risk of a crash.
The fix
Cummins will replace the remote fuel filter hoses. Owner notification letters were mailed June 21, 2024. Owners may contact Gillig customer service at 1-510-264-5073 or 1-800-735-1500.
Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.nhtsa.gov.
Vehicles covered by this recall
Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.
Is this car's recall fixed?
Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
