Seat Belts › Critical Fasteners — Jeep · reported 13 Jun 2024 · 53 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicles. A bolt for the second-row seat belt buckle may not be tightened properly. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 210, "Seat Belt Assembly Anchorages."

The risk

An improperly secured seat belt buckle may not properly restrain occupants during a crash, increasing the risk of injury.

The fix

Dealers will inspect and tighten the second-row seat buckle bolt as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 9, 2024. Owners may contact FCA US, LLC customer service at 1-800-853-1403. FCA US, LLC's number for this recall is 70B.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.nhtsa.gov.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
