Equipment › Appliance › Air Conditioner — Altec · reported 27 Jun 2024 · 180 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

Altec Industries, Inc. (Altec) is recalling certain 2021-2024 JEMS S and JEMS SE vehicles. Inadequate clearance between the A/C hoses and the engine exhaust manifold may result in the hoses overheating.

The risk

A/C hoses that overheat can increase the risk of a fire.

The fix

Altec will install a remedy kit to secure the hose routing farther away from the exhaust manifold, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed August 23, 2024. Owners may contact Altec customer service at 1-877-462-5832. Altec's number for this recall is CSN-3166.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.nhtsa.gov.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
