What's wrong
Corp. Micro Bird, Inc. (Micro Bird) is recalling certain 2008-2024 G5, 2008-2015 MBII, and 2015-2023 T-Series transit buses. The rear emergency door exterior handle may unexpectedly break under applied force.
The risk
In the event of an emergency, a broken door handle can prevent or delay emergency responders from entering the vehicle, increasing the risk of injury.
The fix
Dealers will replace the rear emergency door exterior handle, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed August 15, 2024. Owners may contact Micro Bird customer service at 1-819-477-2012. Micro Bird's number for this recall is 24-109-EUC.
Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.
Vehicles covered by this recall
Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.
Is this car's recall fixed?
Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
