Recall 24V624000

Equipment › Appliance › Oven/stove/cooktop — Escape · reported 21 Aug 2024 · 248 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

Escape Trailer is recalling certain 2024 Escape 17, 19, 21, 23, and 5.0 travel trailers. The LED backlight circuit board in the cooktop range may fail, causing the board to overheat.

The risk

A circuit board that overheats increases the risk of a fire.

The fix

Dealers will cut the circuit powering the LED backlights and terminate the wiring, or remove the LED backlights, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed August 27, 2024. Owners may contact Escape Trailer customer service at 1-604-703-1650.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.

Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
