Equipment › Mechanical › Integrated Jack/leveler/stabilizer — Altec · reported 31 Oct 2024 · 800 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

Altec Industries, Inc. (Altec) is recalling certain 2022-2024 AC series cranes. The crane outrigger shoes may have been improperly manufactured, which can cause them to crack and fail under load, reducing the cranes stability.

The risk

A loss of stability during operation could cause the crane to fall, increasing the risk of an injury.

The fix

Altec will replace the outrigger shoes, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed December 20, 2024. Owners may contact Altec customer service at 1-877-462-5832. Altec's number for this recall is CSN-3194.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153) or go to nhtsa.gov.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
