Recall 24V822000 · manufacturer campaign 501-1859
Electrical System › Wiring — East To West · reported 1 Nov 2024 · 6 vehicles potentially affected
What's wrong
Forest River, Inc (Forest River) is recalling certain 2025 East to West Alta travel trailer vehicles. The inverter may be incorrectly wired to constant "hot" on the second battery, causing the wire to be unprotected from the battery.
The risk
An unprotected invertor wire increases the risk of fire.
The fix
Dealers will rewire the inverter to the breaker side of the second battery, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed December 11, 2024. Owners may contact Forest River customer service at 1-574-264-6664. Forest River's number for this recall is 501-1859.
Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153) or go to nhtsa.gov.
Vehicles covered by this recall
Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.
Is this car's recall fixed?
Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
