Recall 24V835000 · manufacturer campaign RP1039
Service Brakes, Hydraulic › Pedals And Linkages — Polestar · reported 5 Nov 2024 · 6 vehicles potentially affected
What's wrong
Polestar Automotive USA, Inc. (Polestar) is recalling certain 2020 Polestar 1 vehicles. The fastener that connects the brake pedal and the brake booster may have been improperly assembled during manufacturing, which can cause the brake pedal to detach from the brake booster.
The risk
Brake pedal detachment can cause a loss of brake function and increase the risk of a crash.
The fix
Dealers will tighten the pushrod screw joint, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed December 13, 2024. Owners may contact Polestar customer service at 1-800-806-2504. Polestar's number for this recall is RP1039.
Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153) or go to nhtsa.gov.
Vehicles covered by this recall
Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.
Is this car's recall fixed?
Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
