Recall 25V026000 · manufacturer campaign SC0473

Service Brakes, Air › Supply › Reservoir/tank — Mack · reported 21 Jan 2025 · 21 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

Mack Trucks, Inc. (Mack) is recalling certain 2024-2025 Pinnacle (PI/PN) trucks. The air tanks have an insufficient volume of air for the brake system. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 121, "Air Brake Systems."

The risk

Insufficient air volume can reduce braking performance and increase the risk of a crash.

The fix

Dealers will install the correct volume air tanks, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed February 10, 2025. Owners may contact Mack's customer service at 1-800-866-1177. Mack's number for this recall is SC0473.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-888-275-9171) or go to nhtsa.gov.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
