Recall 25V038000 · manufacturer campaign F1016

Fuel System, Diesel › Delivery › Hoses, Lines/piping, And Fittings — Fccc · reported 28 Jan 2025 · 277 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

Daimler Trucks North America LLC (DTNA) is recalling certain 2022-2024 Freightliner Custom Chassis XCM, 2022-2025 Custom Chassis XCR, 2024 Custom Chassis XBS, and 2024-2025 Custom Chassis XCS chassis, equipped with certain Cummins L9 diesel engines. The remote fuel filter hoses may separate from the fitting, causing a fuel leak and an engine stall.

The risk

A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source increases the risk of a fire. An engine stall increases the risk of a crash.

The fix

Cummins will replace the fuel hoses, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed March 11, 2025. Owners may contact DTNA customer service at 1-800-547-0712 or Cummins customer service at 1-800-286-6467. DTNA's number for this recall is F1016.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153) or go to nhtsa.gov.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
