Power Train › Axle Assembly › Axle Shaft — Terex Advance · reported 13 Feb 2025 · 29 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

Terex Advance Mixer, Inc. (Terex) is recalling certain 2024 Commander vehicles equipped with Meritor MX-23-810 axles. The front axle may have an incorrect thrust bearing installed.

The risk

The incorrect thrust bearings can cause the axel shaft to break and a loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of a crash.

The fix

Terex will provide inspection instructions and replacement axles as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on March 17, 2025. Owners may contact Terex customer service at 1-203-222-7170.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 888-327-4236 (TTY 888-275-9171) or go to nhtsa.gov.

Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
