What's wrong

General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2025 Chevrolet Express and GMC Savana vans. The impact beam located in the driver's side door may have improper welds.

The risk

An improperly welded door impact beam may not adequately protect occupants in a crash, increasing the risk of injury.

The fix

Dealers will replace the driver's side door, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed March 3, 2025. Owners may contact Chevrolet customer service at 800-222-1020 or GMC customer service at 800-462-8782. GM's recall number for this recall is N242490780.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 888-327-4236 (TTY 888-275-9171) or go to nhtsa.gov.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
