Recall 25V176000 · manufacturer campaign 25502

Exterior Lighting › Headlights — Ic Bus · reported 20 Mar 2025 · 6,988 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

International Motors, LLC (International) is recalling certain 2025-2026 IC Bus CESB school buses equipped with halogen headlights. When the high beams are activated, the low beams turn off. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."

The risk

Headlight low beam failure can reduce visibility, increasing the risk of a crash.

The fix

Dealers will update the body control module (BCM) software, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 28, 2025. Owners may contact International customer service at 1-800-448-7825. International's number for this recall is 25502.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 888-327-4236 (TTY 888-275-9171) or go to nhtsa.gov.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
