Recall 25V203000

Electrical System › Propulsion System › Traction Battery — Gillig · reported 1 Apr 2025 · 27 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

Gillig, LLC (Gillig) is recalling certain 2023-2024 Low Floor transit buses. The high voltage batteries may have loose hardware that can fall inside the battery pack and create a short circuit.

The risk

A short circuit increases the risk of a fire. In addition, the battery contactors may open suddenly and cause a loss of drive power, increasing the risk of a crash.

The fix

Gillig will install new battery fasteners as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 28, 2025. Owners may contact Gillig customer service at 1-800-735-1500.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 888-327-4236 (TTY 888-275-9171) or go to nhtsa.gov.

Vehicles covered by this recall

Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
