Recall 25V214000 · manufacturer campaign RVXX2503

Interior Lighting — Volvo · reported 8 Apr 2025 · 5,257 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

Volvo Trucks North America (Volvo Trucks) is recalling certain 2023-2026 New VN trucks. The hazard switch back lighting may become inoperative. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 101, "Controls and Displays."

The risk

A hazard switch that is not illuminated may be difficult to locate when needed, increasing the risk of a crash or injury.

The fix

Dealers will update the vehicle master control unit (VMCU) software, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 25, 2025. Owners may contact Volvo Trucks' customer service at 800-528-6586. Volvo Trucks' number for this recall is RVXX2503.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 888-327-4236 (TTY 888-275-9171) or go to nhtsa.gov.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
