Recall 25V256000 · manufacturer campaign SC0477
Engine And Engine Cooling › Engine › Diesel — Mack · reported 17 Apr 2025 · 3 vehicles potentially affected
What's wrong
Mack Trucks, Inc. (Mack) is recalling certain 2025 Anthem (AN) vehicles. The idler gear bracket fasteners may have been improperly tightened, allowing the idler gear to detach from the engine.
The risk
A detached idler gear can damage the engine, resulting in a stall and increasing the risk of a crash or injury.
The fix
Dealers will inspect and replace the turbo compound units as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed April 24, 2025. Owners may contact Mack's customer service at 1-800-866-1177. Mack's number for this recall is SC0477.
Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 888-327-4236 (TTY 888-275-9171) or go to nhtsa.gov.
Vehicles covered by this recall
Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.
Is this car's recall fixed?
Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
