Electrical System › Wiring — Custom Truck & Body Works · reported 2 Jun 2025 · 3 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

Custom Truck and Body Works (Custom Truck) is recalling certain 2020 Ford F-550 vehicles equipped with Weldon 8X16 Input-Output nodes. In the event of a short circuit or wiring failure, the firmware in the node may fail to shut off the output pin, resulting in overloaded electrical circuits.

The risk

Overloaded electrical circuits can overheat, increasing the risk of fire.

The fix

Custom Truck will work with Weldon to update the firmware, free of charge. All vehicles were repaired. Owners may contact Custom Truck customer service at 1-888-712-2963 or Weldon Division of Akron Brass customer service at 1-800-228-1161.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
