Recall 25V618000

Trailer Hitches — RAM · reported 17 Sep 2025 · 10 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

Reading Truck Body, LLC (Reading) is recalling certain 2023 Ram 4500 vehicles equipped with a Curt Hitch (P/N 15400). The trailer hitch may have been installed with too few mounting bolts, causing the assembly to loosen and detach.

The risk

A detached trailer hitch assembly can create a road hazard for other vehicles, increasing the risk of a crash.

The fix

Reading will replace the hitch, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed October 1, 2025. Owners may contact Reading's customer service at 1-610-775-3301.

Vehicles covered by this recall

Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
