What's wrong

Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC (MBUSA) is recalling certain AMG E 53 4MATIC+ WAGON vehicles. The transmission wiring harness may be routed too close to the front driveshaft, which can result in wiring harness damage and cause a loss of drive power.

The risk

A loss of drive power can increase the risk of a crash.

The fix

Dealers will inspect the transmission wiring harness routing and repair it, if necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed February 6, 2026. Owners may contact MBUSA customer service at 1-800-367-6372. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will be searchable on NHTSA.gov beginning December 19, 2025. MBUSA's number for this recall is 2026010001.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
