Recall 26V251000 · manufacturer campaign F1033
Seat Belts › Front › Anchorage — Thomas Built Buses · reported 20 Apr 2026 · 26 vehicles potentially affected
What's wrong
Daimler Trucks North America, LLC (DTNA) is recalling certain 2026-2027 Thomas Built SAF-T-LINER HDX2 transit buses. The driver seat belt anchor may have been installed with inadequate hardware. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 210, "Seat Belt Assembly Anchorages."
The risk
An improperly installed seat belt anchor may fail to properly restrain the driver in a crash, increasing the risk of injury.
The fix
Dealers will inspect and replace the seat belt fastener components, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed June 17, 2026. Owners may contact DTNA customer service at 1-800-574-0712. DTNA's number for this recall is F1033.
Vehicles covered by this recall
Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.
Is this car's recall fixed?
Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
