What's wrong

Forest River, Inc. (Forest River) is recalling certain 2023-2024 XLR Toy Hauler recreational trailers. The listed Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) exceeds the weight rating on the upper deck chassis. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 120, "Wheels and Rims-Other than Passenger Cars."

The risk

Referencing the incorrect GVWR may lead to unintentionally overloading the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.

The fix

Dealers will install a new corrected label, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 16, 2026. Owners may contact Forest River customer service at 1-574-642-0432. Forest River's number for this recall is 79-2067.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
