Recall 26V391000 · manufacturer campaign TBD
Structure › Critical Fasteners — Wabash · reported 15 Jun 2026 · 920 vehicles potentially affected
What's wrong
Wabash National Corporation (Wabash) is recalling certain 2027 Wabash van trailers. The bumper tube bolts may have been improperly tightened, reducing the protection provided by the rear impact guard. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 223, "Rear Impact Guards."
The risk
An improperly installed guard may not sufficiently protect a following vehicle, increasing the risk of injury during a rear end crash.
The fix
Dealers will tighten the bumper tube bolts, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed August 14, 2026. Owners may contact Wabash customer service at 1-765-771-5404.
Vehicles covered by this recall
Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.
Is this car's recall fixed?
Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
