Seat Belts › Front › Retractor — Alfa Romeo, Dodge · reported 6 Aug 2026 · 48,777 vehicles potentially affected
What's wrong
Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2023-2025 Dodge Hornet and 2023-2026 Alfa Romeo Tonale vehicles. The rear outboard seat belts may become twisted and fail to retract properly.
The risk
A seat belt that does not retract may fail to restrain properly an occupant as intended, increasing the risk of injury.
The fix
Dealers will replace the retractors, free of charge. Interim notification letters, notifying owners of the safety risk, were mailed September 17, 2026. A second notice will be sent once the final remedy is available. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is 84D. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall became searchable on NHTSA.gov on August 15, 2026.
Vehicles covered by this recall
Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.
Is this car's recall fixed?
Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
