What's wrong

THE STUB ENDS OF THE AXLE HOUSING MAY NOT HAVE BEEN PROPERLY MANUFACTURED TO SPECIFICATIONS. THESE STUBS WOULD BE OF INADEQUATE STRENGTH AND COULD FRACTURE. COMPLETE FRACTURE WOULD CAUSE THE FRONT WHEEL, HUB, AND BRAKE ASSEMBLY TO DETACH FROM THE AXLE.

The fix

THE DEALER WILL INSPECT AND, IF NECESSARY, INSTALL THE CORRECT AXLE HOUSING STUBS.

VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: HEAVY TRUCKS.SYSTEM: SUSPENSION; FRONT AXLES.CONSEQUENCES OF DEFECT: THIS COULD RESULT IN LOSS OF VEHICLE CONTROL AND ANACCIDENT.
