Equipment › Recreational Vehicle/trailer › Lpg Systems › Lines And Fittings — Holiday Rambler · reported 9 Aug 1978 · 608 vehicles potentially affected
What's wrong
THE L.P. GAS HOSE MAY COME INTO CONTACT WITH THE SPRING HANGER ON THE CHASSIS SUSPENSION SYSTEM OR THE SHIELD BETWEEN THE L.P. TANK AND THE EXHAUST SYSTEM. THIS COULD CAUSE RUPTURE OF THE L.P. GAS HOSE AND ALLOW RAW PROPANE TO ESCAPE.
The fix
DEALER WILL INSPECT AND, IF NECESSARY REPLACE THE EXISTING HOSE. ALSO, THE DEALER WILL SECURE THE HOSE TO THE UNDERSIDE OF THE FLOOR SO THAT IT IS ROUTED AROUND AND AWAY FROM THE SHARP EDGES.
VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: MOTORHOMES.SYSTEM: L.P. GAS; HOSE.CONSEQUENCES OF DEFECT: THIS COULD LEAD TO A FIRE OR AN EXPLOSION RESULTING INVEHICLE DAMAGE AND SERIOUS PERSONAL INJURY.
Vehicles covered by this recall
Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.
Is this car's recall fixed?
Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
