Equipment › Recreational Vehicle/trailer › Lpg Systems › Furnace — Fleetwood · reported 18 Apr 1984 · 3,832 vehicles potentially affected
What's wrong
THE FURNACE MAY BE INADEQUATELY SECURED. THE WOOD SCREW HOLDING THE RIGHT HAND INSIDE CORNER OF THE FURNACE DOWN TO ITS SUPPORTING SURFACE MAY BE ENGAGING PLYWOOD THAT IS TOO THIN. IF THE SCREW COMES LOOSE WHILE TRAILER IS IN SERVICE, THE FURNACE MAY BOUNCE ON ITS SUPPORTING SURFACE OR SHIFT POSITION, POSSIBLY CAUSING LP GAS TUBE FAILURE INSIDE THE TRAILER.
The fix
AN ATTACHING BRACKET WILL BE INSTALLED TO ANCHOR THE FURNACE AND THE LP GAS TUBE WILL BE INSPECTED FOR POSSIBLE DAMAGE.
VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: RECREATIONAL TRAILERS EQUIPPED WITH FURNACES.SYSTEM: EQUIPMENT; FURNACE SUPPORT SCREW.CONSEQUENCES OF DEFECT: GAS TUBE FAILURE COULD RESULT IN A FIRE OR EXPLOSIONWHILE THE VEHICLE IS MOVING OR PARKED.
Vehicles covered by this recall
Whether a particular car is affected and still unrepaired depends on its VIN — a model year being listed does not mean every car of that year is included. Check any VIN free on CarLogs, or at nhtsa.gov/recalls.
Is this car's recall fixed?
Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
