Recall 85V006000

Fuel System, Other › Delivery › Hoses, Lines/piping, And Fittings — Jubilee, Mobile Traveler · reported 7 Jan 1985 · 1,238 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

THE LP GAS DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM WHERE THE LP LINE PASSES OVER THE REAR SUSPENSION LEAF SPRING DOES NOT HAVE ENOUGH CLEARANCE AND COULD ALLOW CONTACT BETWEEN THE LP LINE AND THE LEAF SPRING. THIS COULD LEAD TO FAILURE OF THE COPPER TUBING. OWNERS ARE ADVISED TO CLOSE OFF THE VALVE TO THE LP GAS AND NOT USE THE SYSTEM. CONSEQUENCE OF DEFECT: THERE MAY BE LEAKAGE OF LP GAS WHICH CAN RESULT IN SERIOUS PERSONAL INJURY OR DEATH FROM ASPHYXIATION OR EXPLOSION.

The fix

REROUTE THE LP GAS PIPE UNDER THE LEAF SPRING.

VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: MOTORHOMES (CLASS C) BUILT ON CHEVROLET, GMC AND FORDCHASSIS WITH LPG SYSTEM.SYSTEM: LP GAS.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
