What's wrong

THERE MAY BE TIE ROD CLAMP INTERFERENCE WITH THE FRONT SUSPENSION STRUCTURE. ALSO, STEERING WHEEL MAY BECOME STIFF DUE TO NON-PERMANENT LUBE STEERING SHAFT CROSS BEARINGS. CONSEQUENCE OF DEFECT: STEERING COULD BIND OR BECOME HARD RESULTING IN LOSS OF CONTROL AND COULD CAUSE AN ACCIDENT.

The fix

ASSURE PROPER TIE ROD CLAMP POSITIONING AND INSTALL GREASEABLE CROSS BEARINGS IN THE STEERING SHAFT.

VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: 1981 TO 1984 35' AND 40' TRANSIT BUSES, 1982 TO 1984 ARTICULATED BUSES, AND 1984 AND 1985 TIT'L BUSES.SYSTEM: STEERING, TIE ROD CLAMP.
