Recall 85V103000

Parking Brake › Driveline › Air — Autocar, White Truck · reported 14 Aug 1985 · 4,839 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

THE QUICK RELEASE AIR VALVE MAY CONTAIN A VALVE DISC THAT BALLOONS WHEN THE PARKING BRAKES ARE APPLIED AND PREVENT THE PARKING BRAKES FROM SETTING. CONSEQUENCE OF DEFECT: ALTHOUGH THE PARKING BRAKE IS APPLIED, THE PARKING BRAKES MAY NOT BE SET. THIS COULD ALLOW AN UNATTENDED VEHICLE TO ROLL AND CAUSE AN ACCIDENT.

The fix

REPLACE THE VALVE DISC IN THE QUICK RELEASE AIR VALVE.

VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: WHITE HEAVY DUTY TRUCKS AND AUTOCAR CONSTRUCTOR SERIES WITH 26,000 GVWR AND GREATER.SYSTEM: QUICK RELEASE AIR VALVE PARKING BRAKE.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
