Recall 86V011000

Structure › Body — Freightliner · reported 28 Jan 1986 · 25,000 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

THE CENTER BRACKET, ONE OF THE THREE USED TO HOLD THE GRAB HANDLE IN PLACE, CONTAINS A RIVET WHICH MAY NOT BE PROPERLY ALIGN. THIS ALLOWS A SMALL GAP TO EXIST BETWEEN THE RIVET HEAD AND THE BRACKET. CONSEQUENCE OF DEFECT: A RING ON A FINGER COULD BE CAUGHT IN THE GAP AND RESULT IN PERSONAL INJURY TO A PERSON GETTING OUT OR INTO THE CAB.

The fix

REMOVE THE RIVET ON EACH CENTER BRACKET.

SYSTEM: GRAB HANDLE FOR CAB ENTRY AND EXITS.VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: C.O.E. AND LONG NOSE CONVENTIONAL TRUCKS.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
