Recall 86V049000

Electrical System › Wiring › Fuses And Circuit Breakers — Volvo · reported 28 Mar 1986 · 135 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

THE SIX POSITION FUSE JUNCTION BLOCK MAY HAVE A BUS BAR INSTALLED ON THE SECONDARY SIDE OF THE FUSE BOX. CONSEQUENCE OF DEFECT: THE CIRCUITS WILL NOT BE PROPERLY PROTECTED, AND IF ONE OF THE ATTACHED SECONDARY WIRES EXPERIENCES A SHORT CIRCUIT, IT WOULD CREATE A POTENTIAL FOR A VEHICLE FIRE.

The fix

REMOVE THE BUS BAR WHICH WAS INSTALLED IN ERROR.

SYSTEM: ELECTRICAL/FUSE BOX.VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: HEAVY DUTY TRUCKS 32,000 GVWR AND GREATER.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
