Recall 86V078000

Suspension › Multiple Axle — Ferrari · reported 12 Jun 1986 · 422 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

UNDER CERTAIN SPECIFIC LOAD CONDITIONS, SUCH AS ACCIDENTAL HIGH SPEED IMPACTS ON THE REAR SUSPENSION SYSTEM, THE REAR WHEEL BEARINGS AND HUB ASSEMBLIES COULD DETERIORATE. CONSEQUENCE OF DEFECT: PROLONGED USE OF DETERIORATED WHEEL BEARINGS AND HUB ASSEMBLIES RESULTS IN REAR END NOISE AND VIBRATION. THIS COULD ULTIMATLY CAUSE IMPAIRED HANDLING AND POSSIBLE LOSS OF CONTROL, RESULTING IN AN ACCIDENT.

The fix

REPLACE BOTH RIGHT AND LEFT REAR HUB/HUB CARRIER ASSEMBLIES.

SYSTEM: REAR WHEEL BEARINGS AND HUB ASSEMBLIES. VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: PASSENGER CARS.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
