Service Brakes, Hydraulic › Foundation Components › Hoses, Lines/piping, And Fittings — Ford · reported 11 Jul 1986 · 177 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

BUSES MAY HAVE BEEN BUILT WITH AN INCORRECT TYPE OF STEEL TUBING IN THE INTERMEDIATE REAR SERVICE BRAKE LINES WHICH MAY LEAK OR BREAK DURING APPLICATION OF THE BRAKES. CONSEQUENCE OF DEFECT: IF A BRAKE LINE LEAKED, REAR BRAKES COULD QUIT WORKING, INCREASING STOPPING DISTANCE, WHICH COULD RESULT IN A CRASH.

The fix

REPLACE BRAKE LINES.

SYSTEM: HYDRAULIC BRAKE TUBING. VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: HEAVY-DUTY BUS CHASSIS WITH 255" WHEELBASES AND HYDRAULICBRAKES.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
