Recall 86V090000

Fuel System, Gasoline › Delivery › Hoses, Lines/piping, And Fittings — Yamaha · reported 11 Jul 1986 · 3,743 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

THE DISTANCE BETWEEN THE FUEL COCK AND CARBURETOR MAY BE INSUFFICIENT TO ALLOW PROPER CLEARANCE FOR THE OUTLET FUEL LINE CAUSING IT TO CHAFE. CONSEQUENCE OF DEFECT: CONTINUED CHAFING COULD CAUSE THE FUEL LINE TO FAIL, ALLOWING GASOLINE TO LEAK WHICH MAY RESULT IN A FIRE IF A SOURCE OF IGNITION IS PRESENT.

The fix

INSTALL MODIFIED FUEL COCK THAT ALLOWS ADDITIONAL FUEL HOSE CLEARANCE.

SYSTEM: FUEL. VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: MOTORCYCLES.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
