Recall 86V117000

Seats — Chevrolet, GMC · reported 25 Aug 1986 · 46 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

THREE BOLTS WHICH ATTACH THE SILL THAT SUPPORTS THE BASE OF THE SEAT WERE OMITTED; THEREFORE VEHICLES DO NOT COMPLY WITH FMVSS 210 AND FMVSS 207. CONSEQUENCE OF DEFECT: IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH, THE FLOOR PLATE COULD BUCKLE ALONG THE INBOARD SIDE CAUSING THE SEAT PEDESTAL TO BE IMBALANCED, AND INCREASING THE LIKELIHOOD OF INJURY TO THE SEAT OCCUPANT.

The fix

INSTALL MISSING BOLTS.

SYSTEM: SEAT ATTACHING BOLTS/FMVSS 207 AND 210. VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: LIGHT DUTY TRUCKS EQUIPPED WITH UNION CITY KING STEELBODIES AND DRIVER/PASSENGER BUCKET SEATS WITH A TILT PEDESTAL.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
