TRAILER WIRING HARNESS CONNECTOR COULD CAUSE INTERMITTENT OR TOTAL FAILURE OF TRAILER BRAKE LIGHTS OR ALL OF THE TRAILER LIGHTS.

The fix

REPLACE TRAILER WIRING HARNESS CONNECTOR.
