Recall 89V079000

Suspension › Front — Mack · reported 15 May 1989 · 100 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

TORQUE ROD BOLTS ARE GRADE 2 INSTEAD OF GRADE 5, WHICH IS NOT TO SPECIFICATION, AND COULD FAIL.

The risk

BOLT FAILURE COULD ALLOW THE REAR AXLE TO SHIFT; THISCOULD ADVERSELY AFFECT TRUCK CONTROL AND COULD RESULT IN A CRASH.

The fix

REPLACE TORQUE ROD BOLTS WITH BOLTS OF THE PROPER SPECIFICATION.

SYSTEM: SUSPENSION/TORQUE ROD FASTENERS.VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: HEAVY DUTY TRUCKS WITH REYCO SUSPENSION.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
