Recall 89V132000

Suspension — Motor Coach · reported 8 Aug 1989 · 448 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

DUE TO HIGH LOADS ON THE UPPER REAR RADIUS ROD, WHICH IS USED TO LOCATE THE CRIVE AXLE AND LIMIT VEHICLE ROLL DURING TURNING MANUEVERS, THE UPPER REAR RADIUS ROD MAY FAIL.

The risk

THIS COULD RESULT IN INADEQUATE LOCATION OF THE AXLEWITH POSSIBLE INTERFERENCE BETWEEN MOVING PARTS, WHICH COULD CAUSE STABILITYPROBLEMS AND A POTENTIAL FOR AN ACCIDENT.

The fix

REPLACE SUSPECT RADIUS RODS WITH RODS OF A MORE HEAVY-DUTY DESIGN.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
