Recall 90V014000

Vehicle Speed Control › Springs — Chance · reported 29 Jan 1990 · 10 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

THE THROTTLE RETURN SPRING MAY NOT AUTOMATICALLY RETURN THE THROTTLE LEVER TO THE IDLE POSTION IN THE EVENT THAT THE LINKAGE BECOMES DISCONNECTED.

The risk

THIS COULD CAUSE LOSS OF ACCELERATOR CONTROL IF THE THROTTLE LINKAGE FAILS IN THE FULL OPEN POSITION. THIS COULD RESULT IN AN ACCIDENT.

The fix

INSTALL AN IMPROVED THROTTLE RETURN KIT.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
