Recall 90V028000

Seat Belts › Front › Retractor — Buick, Cadillac · reported 12 Feb 1990 · 10,166 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

MISALIGNED REAR SEAT SAFETY BELT SHOULDER RETRACTOR ASSEMBLIES COULD CAUSE PENDULUM INTERFERENCE, CAUSING THE BELT TO REMAIN IN LOCKED POSITION OR TO TRAVEL FREELY WITHOUT LOCKING.

The risk

IN THE EVENT OF A PANIC STOP OR ACCIDENT, IF THE BELT RETRACTOR INERTIA LOCK DOES NOT ENGAGE, THE REAR SEAT OCCUPANT WOULD HAVE AN INCREASED LIKELIHOOD OF INJURY.

The fix

REALIGN REAR SHOULDER BELT RETRACTOR ASSEMBLY.

SYSTEM: REAR SEAT SHOULDER SAFETY BELT RETRACTOR. VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: PASSENGER CARS.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
