Recall 90V066000

Suspension › Front › Springs › Leaf Spring Assembly › Hanger,bracket — Great Dane · reported 6 Apr 1990 · 1,415 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

A REQUIRED WELD IN THE AIR RIDE SUSPENSION FRAME ATTACHING AREA WAS OMITTED CAUSING SUSPENSION AND ADAPTOR CHANNELS TO BE OVERLOADED.

The risk

ADAPTOR CHANNELS AND SUSPENSION CROSS MEMBERS COULD CRACK AND FAIL WITH HANGER AND AXLE ASSEMBLY DETACHMENT; THIS COULD RESULT IN A VEHICLE CRASH AND/OR A CATASTROPHIC AXLE DETACHMENT.

The fix

INSPECTION AND WELD REPAIR, IF NECESSARY, TO ATTACH THE BOGIE SUBFRAME CROSS MEMBERS TO THE BOGIE ADAPTOR CHANNEL.

SYSTEM: AIR RIDE SUSPENSION.VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: VAN TRAILERS WITH AIR RIDE SUSPENSION.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
