Trailer Hitches — Witzer · reported 29 Nov 1990 · 1,350 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

THE MATING SURFACE ON SOME LAMINATED "J" HOOKS MAY BE UNEVEN, OR THE SWING DOWN ARMS UNEQUAL IN LENGTH, EITHER OF WHICH COULD RESULT IN UNEVEN LOAD BEARING OF THE HOOKS.

The risk

The fix

REPLACE SWING DOWN ARMS IF THEY ARE UNEQUAL IN LENGTH, AND INSPECT AND REPAIR "J" HOOKS TO ASSURE SYMMETRICAL LOADING.

SYSTEM: "J" HOOKS AND SWING DOWN ARMS.VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: TRAILERS.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
