Recall 91V074000

Seats › Front Assembly › Recliner — Chevrolet · reported 3 May 1991 · 173 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

THE FRONT SEAT UPPER HINGE COVER SCREWS ARE TOO LONG, AND INTERFERE WITH THE SEAT BACK INERTIA LOCK. THIS PREVENTS THE SEAT BACK FROM LOCKING PROPERLY.

The risk

IN THE EVENT OF A SUDDEN STOP OR VEHICLE IMPACT, ANUNLOCKED SEAT BACK WOULD INCREASE THE RISK OF INJURY TO THE SEAT OCCUPANT.

The fix

REPLACE SCREWS SECURING UPPER HINGE TRIM COVER WITH CORRECT LENGTH SCREWS.

SYSTEM: FRONT BUCKET SEAT LATCH; FMVSS 207.VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: PASSENGER CARS.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
