Recall 91V154000

Suspension › Front › Shock Absorber — Winnebago · reported 17 Sep 1991 · 160 vehicles potentially affected

What's wrong

THE REAR SHOCK ABSORBER BRACKET CAUSES THE REAR SHOCK ABSORBER LOWER MOUNTING HARDWARE TO FAIL PREMATURELY.

The risk

THE REAR SHOCK ABSORBER MAY BECOME DETACHED AND CAUSEDAMAGE TO SURROUNDING COMPONENTS (TIRES, SPRINGS, ETC.) WHICH COULD LEAD TOLOSS OF VEHICLE CONTROL AND AN ACCIDENT.

The fix

REMOVE OLD SHOCK ABSORBER MOUNTING BRACKETS, REATTACH NEW BRACKETS TO FRAME, ADAPT SHOCK ABSORBERS AND ADD A JOUNCE PAD SPACER BETWEEN EACH JOUNCE PAD AND THE NEW SHOCK ABSORBER BRACKETS.

SYSTEM: SUSPENSION.COMMERCIAL TRUCKS.

Is this car's recall fixed?

Recall repairs are free at any franchised dealer, for the life of the vehicle. A CarLogs report shows the recall status for a specific VIN as reported by the manufacturer — whether it's open or repaired, and whether the fix is available yet.
